notd - stargazers shade 205

hello everyone,

well first of all i'll apologise for not having updated this in a little while. on my old blog i tended to update more often, but unfortunately i've had one of "those" weeks. i'll try to update more often from now on.

anyway, my mummy sent me a present in the post on the weekend containing 2 stargazers nail polishes. the colours are two different shades of pink, and here's

the one i'm featuring today

shade 205

I'm a little disappointed by the way my camera's washed out the colour, in this pic it comes across as much paler as it actually is. in 'real life' the colour is much more fluorescent.

i'll be honest with you: when i initially applied it, i wasn't that keen. there's a certain sheen to the finish that i'm not keen on. but, i always like to give things a try and after a few hours i was liked it more, and now i really like it. the colour actually reminds me of pink highlighter pens. lol.

anyway, the polish itself i found quite translucent when it first went on, but 2 coats later there's no visible signs of nails underneath.

i'll say again that i do really like this colour, and i imagine that it would be barbie's signature nail colour if she were a real lady...

i'll be trying the other colour soon so stay tuned for that!!

One Day My Prince Will Come...

hi everyone,

as i write this it's monday, but i probably won't get it posted until tuesday. but i hope you all had a nice weekend anyway!

i've used the last few weekends to really catch up on sleep. i've always been a bit of an insomniac, i go to bed late and wake up early, so i've really tried hard to get into a natural sleep pattern rather than taking sleeping tablets again, as i've had to in the past.

call me an old lady, but i've been getting in the bath at 6 or 7 on an evening and try to spend a good half hour in there. touch-wood, it seems to be working.

anyway, a couple of weeks ago i had a particularly hard time getting to sleep, and i took the opportunity to use lush ickle baby bath. i won't go into too much detail as i've already posted an entry on it here, but in short it really helped me get a really good night's sleep.

this weekend, i had a sniff through my Lush collection and decided to use Frog Prince, another item from my massive Lush haul my brother treated me to for my birthday. unfortunately as my lickle froggy had been on a long haul flight with me, he was a little bit broken when i unpacked him =(

"gizz a kiss!"

he was the main smelly in my Lush collection -costing £2.75 and a mixture of jasmine, neroli and rosewood .the lady who helped me in the shop actually showed me a little trick on how to get a kiss from my froggy - and while i was testing it out for myself i ended up getting to see what he tasted like, too. haha.

so, i ran a warm bath and dropped him in. the water turned a lovely green colour with a dollop of ruby red for his lips.

as the frog prince melted in the bath, look who popped out...

Prince Caspian! (don't you think he looks like adam levine?)

this would have made a great gift for a single girl (i already found my prince) but i loved using it anyway, and the scent of the frog prince lingered on my skin for the rest of the evening. lovely!!

i've still got a few things to try, so stay tuned for more soapy gossip!!

hi there. and welcome to my first official blogspot post. i originally joined blogger a few years ago, but for some reason it stopped letting me log in. so when i decided to start another, i made this one, and in the mean time hoped and preyed i could log in here again. and now i can!!

a little abit about me? i'm 25, and originally from leeds, although these days i live in California. what else? well, i'm married (more about him later) with 2 baby boys aged 20 months and 8 months.

i'd talk about my hobbies next...but i'm pretty boring and don't really have any, other than being glued to my iphone and reading magazines.

as for what i'll actually blogging about...well, take a peek here and it'll give you a clue =)
